Recount text is a text that used to retell past experince.
A. Social function :
- To retell events for the porpose of informing or entertaining .
B. Personal recount
- Retelling of an activity that the speaker or writer has been personatlity involved
e.g Diary bigraphy
- Factual recount recording the particulars of accident
e.g news report,experince
C. Imaginative recount
- Talking of and imaginary role and giving detalis of event
e.g a day in the life of,experince
D. Orientation
- Provide the setting (when and where) and introduces participant/characters (who).
E. Series Of Event
- Tell what happened or events in temporal sequences.
F. Re-orientation
- Closure of events (e.g. Comenents of conclusion)
G. Language
- Focus of Individual participants
- Use of Past Tense
- Focus on a Temporal Sequence of Events
- Use of Meterial ( on Action ) Caluses

My Birthday
On 12 November I celebrated my birthday, I had the experience most memorable birthday was hen my birthday is the 10th. At that time, in school time my friends tricked me by way of hours of silence from lessons started till completion, after school my friends came up with carrying the eggs and flour, I do not think that the eggs and the flour used to threw, my uniform when it becomes full of eggs and flour and the moment at that time became the most memorable and the most pleasing moment in my life.
